Healthwatch Cheshire West publish report on the accessibility of health and care services in Neston
Healthwatch Cheshire West have today published a report considering the accessibility of health and care services in Neston and the surrounding villages.
During conversations we have had with people in the Neston area, a number of concerns had been raised about the accessibility of some health and social care services for those residing within the CH64 postcode. Of particular concern were issues relating to location and access of community-based services following hospital discharge, and the choice of location for NHS and Social Care Services. In order to explore this further, we decided to conduct a survey with local people to gain their views about the accessibility of their local services.
The report is based on conversations and survey responses received during engagement activity in and around Neston earlier this year.
It is timely that the report coincides with the publication of the draft Cheshire West and Chester Place Plan, and its focus on Cheshire West and Chester becoming a healthier place to live. It is hoped that the findings from this report could support the final Place Plan going forward.
