Healthwatch Cheshire supporting staff and volunteers with flu vaccinations

Healthwatch Cheshire are supporting our team of staff and volunteers by funding flu vaccinations for those who are not illegible to obtain one through the NHS.

Our team of staff and volunteers often visit settings where people are physically vulnerable, elderly, unwell, or may have compromised immune systems. They also work alongside staff, carers, relatives and others who could be at risk of experiencing or passing on infections. Flu on top of any long-term health condition or illness can easily develop into something very serious, and can result in hospital admission.

That is why Healthwatch Cheshire feel it is vital to offer to pay for flu vaccinations for our staff and volunteers.

The flu vaccine is routinely given on the NHS to:

  • adults 65 and over
  • people with certain medical conditions (including children in at-risk groups from 6 months of age)
  • pregnant women
  • children aged 2 and 3
  • children in reception class and school years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

For more information of the NHS flu vaccination campaign, visit the NHS website.
