Hello, I am Erica Morriss and currently serving as a Board Director of Healthwatch Cheshire.
In addition to my role with Healthwatch I am also a Member of my local hospital Trust – Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford and provides a range of community health services across South Cheshire and Vale Royal. I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you to consider doing the same with your local hospital…
The main reasons for me becoming a Member is to:
1 – Receive accurate and timely information direct from the hospital which keeps me informed of what is happening locally and avoids rumour/inaccurate reporting.
2 – Have my say by taking part in surveys, which helps to shape future local health services, and by attending Member events focussed on individual departments and areas.
3 – Probably the best till last – show my support to everyone that works at the hospital not only in these exceptional times but as an ongoing commitment.
Becoming a Member is very simple and you can dip in and out of involvement to fit in with your own commitments. If you would like to find out more about Mid Cheshire Hospitals Membership, please visit, www.mcht.nhs.uk/Members.
Thank you for taking the time to read this short blog and please do take the opportunity to have a look at your local hospital website.
