Cheshire CCGs elect new Clinical Chair

The member GP Practices of the four Cheshire CCGs have elected Dr Andrew Wilson as Clinical Chair from January 2020, and Clinical Chair of NHS Cheshire CCG from 1st April 2020.

The results of the vote were:

Dr Andrew Wilson – 32 votes
Dr Jonathan Griffiths – 30 votes

Dr Wilson said, “I am delighted to be elected to this important role by GP Practice colleagues.

I am very conscious of the responsibility on both the Chair and CCG more widely, in supporting changes needed to continue to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Cheshire and the significant effort that will be needed to achieve the best quality, joined-up and person-centred care that we aspire to.

I would like to thank my colleague Dr Jonathan Griffiths. Jon and I have worked together closely for many years and I have valued his guidance and wise counsel. I am confident that we will continue to feel the influence of Jon’s leadership be that local, regional or national in the future.

This is a positive time for care in Cheshire. Despite the unavoidable challenges we will need to overcome, our new CCG will offer new opportunities to both support and champion the Cheshire care system. I look forward with excitement to working with partners, colleagues and the people of Cheshire over the coming years.”
